In any good theatre there is one component that in and of itself can truly change the enjoyment of the consumer, Immersion. This is the ability to tune the rest of the world out and let your imagination enter a new and exciting world as it is unfolded before you.

Anything that breaks you away from the game itself can be considered immersion-breaking, so plan your evenings accordingly. Focus on the world described before you, on the actions of your other party members, on the voices players may provide for their characters. Try and put yourself, as the player, into your character’s shoes and for the span of your game time, try and live and act as they would.
